For today's editorial, we offer viewer/listener replies to several recent KSL editorials.
KSL's support for expanded smoking restrictions throughout Utah prompted Roger Price to write:
"Your (editorial) is not in line with the precepts of liberty.
"To smoke or associate with smokers in a smoke filled atmosphere is a choice we are each free to make. To work in a private establishment where the air contains second-hand smoke is also a choice for the individual."
KSL's editorial suggesting toll roads may be in order brought this response from Marvin Gardner:
"Today we pay a fee when we buy a vehicle, license a vehicle and when we put fuel in the vehicle.
"I believe we are already paying the toll fee' and if the local, state, or federal governments need more funds to pay for new roads . . . all they need to do is raise those fees already in place."
Finally, Ron Carlson objected to KSL's support for extended use of child booster seats in vehicles:
"It would be fine for a safety recommendation to be made, but making a height requirement a law goes too far. It would be a nightmare to enforce and would punish the vertically challenged."
As always, a more complete text of these replies can be found on our website at www.ksl.com.
