SALT LAKE CITY — Police believe that two separate shooting incidents Tuesday might be related and they are trying to piece together evidence from both scenes to be able to find any suspects.
At about 3 p.m., there was a report of shots being fired in the Winco parking lot, at 2572 S. 5600 West, in West Valley City, said public information officer Sgt. Mike Powell. Three vehicles sped off, leaving several shell casings in the lot.
Later, a man told police that when he leaned down in his vehicle on Main Street in Salt Lake City, "he felt what he thought was a shot graze his head," said Salt Lake police detective Rick Wall. Wall said the man received only minor injuries and will be OK.
However, police later learned that the man had been shot at the Winco and had driven to the area near 1600 S. Main Street.
Powell said investigators are working diligently on interviews and gathering additional information and evidence to be able to solve the alleged crime.
