GUANGZHOU, China, Jan 22, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A 2-0 win over China Sunday gave the United States its fourth championship of the Four Nations Soccer Tournament at Guangzhou, China.

Captain Kristine Lilly scored two first half goals for the Americans -- all but settling the issue. She scored her first on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute and the second came in the 41st minute.

Goalkeeper Hope Solo made five saves to make Lilly's goals stand up.

"The mentality of this team is to look at any situation like this and just step out with a determination to win the day, and that's what they did," said U.S. Coach Greg Ryan.

China wasted a number of scoring chances and failed to win the title for a second straight time. A tie game would have given China the championship.

France finished third and Norway was fourth.
