(KSL News) A teen accused in the brutal murder of his mother showed little emotion in court this morning.

Jeremy Hauck said only one word in court: yes. With that he consented to a blood draw so prosecutors can compare DNA evidence found at the murder scene to Hauck.

Prosecutor Bill McGuire said, "You have to eliminate certain things from being his, and if there was a chance that he could have left some blood or something of that nature."

Defense attorneys also used today's hearing to ask for a continuance so they can further examine Hauck's previous mental health records.

Another pretrial hearing is set for next month. At that time a trial date will likely be set.
