WEST VALLEY CITY - Police are looking for a man who robbed a West Valley City business and led officers on a chase early Thursday morning.

Police say the man broke into the Rent-to-Own at 3867 W. 5400 South around 3:30 a.m. When officers arrived, the man got into his car and led them on a short chase.

Several agencies got involved -- setting up a pit maneuver and spiking the man's tires. The burglar hit a police car -- causing minor damage -- before he got out and took off on foot.

Police used dogs to track him but were unable to hunt him down. Officers called off the search around 7:30 a.m. No one was hurt in the chase.

Officers believe they know who the man is.
