(KSL News) Police are investigating why a 9-year-old boy died this morning inside the Melting Pot Restaurant in Salt Lake.
Salt Lake Police lieutenant J.R. Nelson said, "At 9:18, fire received a call that a 9-year-old boy was convulsing here in the restaurant. Fire responded and found the boy was deceased in the kitchen."
Police say the boy was with his sister, who worked at the restaurant and was getting food ready for opening later in the day.
The kitchen manager discovered the child and called 911.
At this point police have no idea why the boy died and say there will be an autopsy.
