I've done it before, as have all of the other hosts. It obviously can be done, but I think all of the hosts would agree it's much better to have a co-host to work with. Mary Richards has been a delight to work with a couple of days this week. She's bright and fun. But I started thinking about that line "You don't know what you've got til it's gone." My on air partner Maria Shilaos, who is on a well deserved vacation with her family, is a consummate professional, always prepared and easy to work with.

Unfortunately I think many of us take for granted our partners, whether they are professional partners or personal partners. We may not always see what they do and how much they do. We all know what it's like when a colleague is on vacation or sick and we have to pick up the slack. We may tend to resent the fact that we have to do all of that extra work instead of appreciating all that they do every day.

So I thank my co-workers for the great jobs they do and I look forward to being back on the air with Maria, both of which make my job so much easier!
