(KSL News) A Davis School District educator will spend one year in jail for sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy.

Kathryn Louise Parmley also will undergo psychiatric treatment.

As part of a plea deal, Parmley pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery, which means she will not have to register as a sex offender.

The Deseret Morning News reports Parmley will be allowed work and treatment release time while she is in jail.
