NEW YORK, Jan 5, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The off-Broadway show "Kabbalah" was forced to close early when its star -- the daughter of shock jock Howard Stern -- abruptly left her role.
Emily Stern, 22, was reportedly afraid audience members were taking pictures of her during a nude scene in her role parodying singing star Madonna, the New York Post reported Thursday.
The Jewish Theater of New York production was a satire about the commercialism of the Jewish mystical practice of Kabbalah.
Writer/director Tuvia Tenenbom told The Post he was "terribly disappointed."
He said Stern asked his daughter not to do the show, which opened Nov. 15.
"He told her, 'If you're in that show, a lot of people are going to use it against me. Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it!'" Tenenbom said.
Tenenbom said he promised to keep her celebrity link a secret, but Stern fans recognized her and bloggers began hinting of nude shots taken during performances, the Post said.
Efforts to reach Stern's agent were unsuccessful and Sirius Satellite Radio, where his new show begins Monday, had no comment.
