(KSL News) -- A cement worker is recovering this evening. Co-workers rescued him today when he became trapped in a conveyer belt.
The men were working at a cement batch plant on 5400 south when one of the workers got caught in a conveyer belt. Two other employees were able to grab onto the man, turn off the belt, and rescue the man.
Dean Williams, Battalion Chief, West Valley Fire Dept.: "One of the workers who wasn't injured was instrumental in saving the guy. If he'd been pulled into the mixer, then he would have been a fatal."
That worker wasn't seriously hurt. The other two were taken to hospitals with severe injuries. Both are expected to recover.
