SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- First-round draft pick Morris Almond agreed to a contract with the Utah Jazz, the team said Friday.
The guard will make roughly $1.7 million over two years.
Almond, Conference USA player of the year in 2007, was the 25th pick in the June 28 draft. He averaged 26.4 points at Rice.
Almond will join the Jazz summer league team which begins practicing Monday and will participate in the 2007 Rocky Mountain Revue from July 13-20. He will make his professional debut against the Atlanta Hawks summer league entry on July 13 at 7 p.m.
