Marc Giauque, KSL NewsradioPolice first began looking for the suspect after an attempted robbery about a block away.

Tamara Snell says it was her 67-year-old father that the suspect tried to rob. He and Snell's mother had come to visit her, when they encountered the armed man in a parking lot.

Snell says her father resisted, thinking the gun at his chest was fake. Tamara said, "He's a mean guy. You know. He said that the guy pushed him to the ground and was yelling at him. My dad kicked him." Tamara didn't know what had happened until her mother called her out of her house.

Snell says her father was not hurt and did the right thing in trying to protect her mother. The whole thing, though, left her feeling uneasy about where she lives.
