Mercer Fire Kicks Up, but Firefighters say that's a Good Thing

(KSL News) The Mercer Canyon Fire burning west of Utah Lake kicked up this afternoon, and firefighters say that was a good thing.

They actually set the fire on purpose to burn off unburned fuel inside the fire line.

Fire bosses say the operation was successful, and they were able to hold the line and keep the fire at about 5,200 acres.

The fire is 95 percent contained.
