SALT LAKE CITY -- Surveillance video shows a mountain lion prowling around the University of Utah's Research Park Thursday morning.

The animal is in the upper left corner of the video.

The big cat was prowling around the main gate to Research Park but didn't appear to cause problems.

University officials say it's common for mountain lions to be in the foothills in the early morning hours. They say there is no reason for concern, but people should be vigilant and report any out-of-the-ordinary sightings.
