(KSL News) A construction truck traveling on Highway 89 in Fruit Heights lost its brakes today causing a major traffic snarl and sending three people to the hospital.
The truck was hauling dirt for the Legacy Project and headed southbound when it lost its brakes. It soared through a red light, slammed into a pickup truck and then hit another pickup truck head on. That second pickup flipped and the construction truck lost its axles and jack-knifed.
One man was seriously hurt and two others had minor injuries. They were all taken to the hospital.
