(KSL News) A wildfire burned about 30 acres in Davis County this afternoon in North Salt Lake where they are building the interchange for Legacy Highway at I-215. It's west of Redwood Road between Center Street and I-215.

A street created a natural barrier for businesses close by.

Fire officials believe the fire may have been sparked by construction on the Legacy highway project.

The remaining uncontained wild land fire in Utah is proving difficult for fire fighters. They are asking for recreation enthusiasts who frequent the areas to stay away.

The Mercer Canyon Fire west of Utah Lake still has a lot of unburned fuel inside the fire lines so the fire continues to flare up occasionally. It may be later tonight or even tomorrow before firefighters get it under control.

Mercer Canyon is a popular area for target practice and firefighters are concerned that shooters may not be aware there are fire crews nearby.
