SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Salt Lake County Council is expected to pass a resolution today to use environmentally friendly building techniques in all of the county's new buildings.
The council hopes private business will follow its lead.
Environmentally friendly building, also known as "green building", includes using recycled materials and natural lighting or solar panels.
Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Coroon signed an executive order last year that called on county agencies to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices.
The resolution the council will discuss debate focuses that order onto new buildings.
