(KSL News) A teacher at Box Elder Middle School in Brigham City has a great desire to see his students succeed, even if it comes at a personal cost to him.
Pam Bench nominated her co-worker, Matt Williams, for a High 5.
"We just think you're such a wonderful example, Matt," she told him. "You love our students so much. You've battled with cancer this year and shown us that you have a lot of strength and determination."
Matt replied, "I just couldn't be away from my students. It's tough. Being in the hospital, that's one of the things I worried about the most, not the pain or the cancer or the hair loss or anything like that. It was how my kids are doing and how are they faring. I've got a great staff that took care of things while I was gone."
Matt got a gift basket from Thanksgiving Point Emporium and a High 5 from our Coco Warner.
