SALT LAKE CITY -- If you are heading down to the EVE celebration, you can catch a free ride on TRAX and FrontRunner. EVE tickets will count as valid fare for trains.
The last TRAX train to Sandy will leave the Gallivan Plaza just after 1 a.m. The last FrontRunner trains will leave Salt Lake City at 1 a.m.
The Utah Transit Authority announced some changes in service for the New Year's holiday:
Friday, Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve/EVE events):
Buses will run on a Saturday schedule except for Utah County route 816, which will not run. Regular weekday TRAX and FrontRunner service with late trains.
TRAX:
- The last train will depart Salt Lake Central station to Sandy Civic Center at 1:01 a.m. (Gallivan Plaza at 1:12 a.m.)
- The last train to the University of Utah will depart Salt Lake Central Station at 1:11 a.m. (Gallivan Plaza at 1:22 a.m. and library at 1:25 a.m.)
- The last train from the U of U Medical Center to downtown will depart at 1:47 a.m.
- The last train from downtown to Salt Lake Central Station will depart Gallivan Plaza at 12:42 a.m.
FrontRunner:
- The last two trains depart Salt Lake Central Station for Ogden at 12:15 a.m. and 1 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 1 (New Year's Day):
- Ski bus service to resorts in Big and Little Cottonwood canyons.
- No Sundance ski service.
- No FrontRunner, TRAX, or regular bus service on New Year's Day.
EVE tickets are valid for fare on TRAX and FrontRunner after 5 p.m. Dec. 29-31 only. Children 10 and under may ride free with an adult ticket holder. EVE tickets are not valid on UTA buses.
