SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The developers of the Vineyard project in Utah County are seeking final approvals for tax breaks that will allow them to start installing infrastructure at the old Geneva Steel site.
The Provo Daily Herald says that the Alpine School District still has concerns about a redevelopment agreement that would give up to $300 million in tax breaks over 40 years.
Project manager Dennis Astill says the company plans to work with the school board in January.
He says once the redevelopment plan is approved, the developer could begin installing roads, sewer lines and other infrastructure within six months.
Until then, engineering and waste removal is being done on the 1,000-plus acre site.
