SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Police say a St. George woman died yesterday while bathing her 2-month-old daughter, and the infant subsequently drowned.
Aneka Flores, 23, was found slumped over the tub by her husband when he came home from work about 4:30 p.m. The baby, Catalina Flores, was floating face down in several inches of water.
St. George police spokesman Craig Harding says officers found no sign of foul play and the woman had no known medical conditions, or history of drug use.
The woman's young sons were visiting their grandparents when the deaths occurred. The husband had been at work since 6 a.m.
Harding says autopsies will be performed on both the mother and baby by the state medical examiner in Salt Lake City.
