ROY — Police were investigating a shooting Thursday that left a man dead in his home and a woman injured.
The man was arrested and booked into Weber County Jail at about 11 am after a domestic violence incident and released shortly after 5 pm, according to Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham. Officers responded to another domestic violence call at the home near 1900 West and 4400 South at 6:30 pm.
By the time they arrived, shots had been fired and the woman had walked to a nearby convenience store with a gunshot wound to the right arm, Whinham said. She is expected to recover.
The man's fatal wounds were not self-inflicted, Whinham said. A 17-year-old girl witnessed the shooting involving the couple, who lived together but were not married.
"It looks like an individual came back to this residence, after having been given a no-contact order, to continue whatever activities he was arrested for this morning," Whinham said.
Police did not immediately release the identities of either the man or the woman.
