FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- Davis County Sheriff Bud Cox wants his office to become one of the few nationally accredited law-enforcement agencies in Utah.
Currently, the Weber County Sheriff's Office is the only law-enforcement agency accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. Cache County is expected to receive accreditation in August.
The accreditation means Cox's office would be held to a set of national standards in training, policies and procedures.
