(KSL News) A woman accused of stealing checks from her dead sister-in-law pleaded not guilty.
Police say 37-year-old Nikki Warner used Sharee Hatch's checks to buy corn at several roadside produce stands. Hatch was murdered by her estranged husband in 2002.
Police say after the check incident, Warner broke into a home and stole gold bars, jewelry, war medals and rare coins. She faces eight counts of forgery and seven other charges ranging from vehicle burglary to identity fraud.
