(KSL News) A truck carrying a load of hay on I-15 lost that load when the driver took a turn too fast to take the westbound 201 ramp. Nearly 100 bales of hay scattered everywhere, completely blocking one exit.
Crews had to shut down the 900 West exit for almost two hours. The driver was cited for the load loss and has to pay for the clean-up.
Utah Highway Patrol says this is an extreme case of debris on the road but not entirely unusual. Last month, there were more than 700 calls about road debris in Salt Lake County alone.
