SALT LAKE CITY - Temple Square kept with tradition Friday night by turning on their Christmas Lights.
The first night of lights have been a tradition for families for years, and many of them showed up Friday to be the first to see the lights.
"I think they're great. I've been coming to it for a few years and I always getting here right on time when they turn on. It's fabulous," said one spectator.
The lights kick off the holiday shopping season, and shop and restaurant owners hope those going to see the lights will wander into their stores.
In addition to the lights, downtown is also offering free 2-hour parking through the holiday season.
