BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Leaders at Brigham Young University-Idaho have signed off on a new round of student growth.

The Board of Trustees has approved a plan allowing the Rexburg-based university to expand its enrollment cap from 12,500 to 15,000 per semester.

It's the latest step in the overall expansion plan for the university. Administrators project reaching the 15,000 mark for full-time students in a semester sometime between 2013 and 2014.

President Kim B. Clark says the enrollment increase is a response to demand for the kind of education offered on campus.

The physical campus is also in growth mode, along with BYU-Idaho's course offerings online. The school offers 99 online classes and three online degrees.
