SALT LAKE CITY -- The holidays are meant to be fun and joyful, but the chaos of gift-giving and parties and activities can often create more stress for people than enjoyment.

Trish Henrie, an adjunct professor at the University of Utah who teaches courses in positive psychology, offered tips for coping with stresses of the holiday season. She suggests people focus on good relationships, meaning in life, gratitude, and goals.

Also, a seminar will be held Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the university's Marriott Library. Seating is free but limited.
