(KSL News) Last month, Real Salt Lake owner Dave Checketts promised to hand over a $7.5 million donation to build a youth soccer complex. Now he has delivered on that promise.
In a statement, the team says it has sent a letter of credit to Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson's office. The money will allow the city to get a bond for the 180-acre complex, which will house soccer fields and baseball diamonds.
It also satisfied one of the requirements for Real Salt Lake to receive $35 million of public funding for its stadium in Sandy.
