(KSL News) The results are in, and Utah Republicans have a new party chair.

Stan Lockhart was elected today by delegates at the GOP's organizing convention.

His win comes after a unique race where Governor Huntsman declined the usual practice of endorsing a specific candidate for the job.

Lockhart is replacing Enid Greene, who led the party since Joe Cannon stepped down last fall to take over the Deseret Morning News.

Greene didn't want to keep the job.

Governor Huntsman wanted to endorse business executive Fred Lampropoulos, but he backed out, and the governor decided not to endorse a second candidate.
