SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake County is offering homeowners low-interest loans for energy efficiency improvements.

County Mayor Peter Corroon was set to make the announcement Tuesday morning at the Kearns Idea House, a government-refurbished model house.

The county and Community Development Corporation of Utah say Energy Smart Loans will be made available to all homeowners in the county.

The loans are intended for projects that conserve energy and lower monthly utility bills.
