Tom Callan, KSL NewsradioSoldiers of the 145th Field Artillery are bound for Iraq. Before hitting the deserts in Iraq, the Utah Army National Guardsmen will train under the hot sun at Fort Bliss, Texas, not far from the U.S.-Mexico border.

For many soldiers, this is not their first visit to Iraq. Major Hank McIntyre says 450 soldiers will be deployed to keep peace in the streets. The 145th practiced crowd control at the 2002 Olympics.

They will train in Texas for three months before shipping off to Iraq. If all goes according to plan, they should return home next June.
