Cheryl Preheim, NBC NewschannelThanks to the internet and a webcam, a soldier serving in Iraq was able to see his baby being born in the Denver suburb of Lone Tree, Colorado.

Emily Childers can't imagine this moment without her husband, Brock. Minutes before birth, the baby responds to daddy's voice. Amazing, considering dad is in Iraq.

"I sure wish I could be there to hold her hand and help her through her contractions," Brock Childers said. Emily does too. A webcam is connecting the Childers as their family grows from 4 to 5. "I wish he was here though but at least I can talk to him in real time and see him." Emily Childers said. "This is the first webcam birth at Sky Ridge Hospital," nurse Debbie Delk said.

When the moment comes Brock Childers coaches his wife. "Come on hon, push, push hard." Brock said. As if thousands of miles weren't separating them. "Eight, nine, ten. I see you hon, don't worry. Oh there is the baby! Oh my gosh!"

The moment the baby takes his first breath, "We've got a boy?" And lets out that beautiful cry... "It's ok baby..."

Dad is there, in the only way he can be, but he is there. "Good job hon! I love you. it was very emotional to be a part of that. Aw, there he is." Brock said.

Baby Childers is 6 pounds 13 ounces. He's 19 and a half inches long. He doesn't have a name just yet.

"Can you see him Brock. I sure do! I can see everything, but I sure wish I was there is nothing replacing being there. I can't wait to get home." That is the next precious moment they are all waiting for.
