FINAL Fourth Quarter
BYU 55, UNLV 7

This was just what the doctor ordered for the BYU Cougars. Offense came alive, defense was steady and the Cougars were strong in all areas today. Jake Heaps was 19-34, 294, 2TD's. He found Luke Ashworth 5 times for 82 yards and a TD. Josh Quezada, 52 yards and 3 touchdowns. The running game was steady throughout. The defense just suffocated UNLV all day long until they scored a late TD. Now on to Colorado State in Fort Collins. The Cougars are now 4-5 and two wins from Bowl Eligibility. The final score BYU 55 and UNLV 7.

The Cougars rolling into the 4th quarter, a James Lark sighting and even a pass attmept! Expect a lot of running the ball from here on out......

13:09 Third Quarter
BYU 38, UNLV 0

First series in the second half and the UNLV defense does a pretty good job stopping the Cougars. The drive stalls in UNLV territory after a great return by Cody Hoffman to open the second half.

12:00 Second Quarter
BYU 21, UNLV 0

The run game has been dominant. Mixing in some passing to keep UNLV honest. The BYU defense is just shutting down the UNLV offense so far. They were negative yards for quite a bit of the first quarter and into the second quarter. UNLV jjst convereted their first third down of the game.

12:40 Second Quarter
BYU 21, UNLV 0

2:31 First Quarter
BYU 14, UNLV 0

BYU is pounding the ball on the ground and it is paying off. Two Touchdown runs for the Cougars from Quezada and Kariya. It may not be that exciting, but BYU needs to continue to be patient and put up the points. This will only help their confidence long term.

2:31 First Quarter

7:50 First Quarter

The game plan working at least early pounding the football on the ground. Joshua "Juice" Quezada from 13 yards out on the ground gives BYU the early lead 7-0.

13:28 First Quarter
BYU 0, UNLV 0

An early interception for BYU, but nothing comes of it. Brian Logan gets the int and the Cougars were in UNLV territory, but nothing on 3rd and 10 and the Cougars punt it away.

FINAL Fourth Quarter
BYU 25, Wyoming 20

Ok, what to take from this game? TAKE THE WIN. Run with it. Bronco Mendenhall said it best in his postgame news conference, when asked about the close win. He said it was basically realistic to where BYU is right now. The Cougars secured the win with mostly solid defensive play, and a lot of running. BYU had its "three" horsemen -- Brian Kariya (88 yds), J.J. Di Luigi (82 yds) and Josh Quezada (59 yards) -- churning away. I was hoping this would be a breakout game for Jake Heaps, and even predicted on Twitter he would throw at least two TD passes. He did throw for two, if you count the pick-six. I do think, though, that two throws he made in the 4th Quarter drive to Luke Ashworth should give BYU fans a reason for hope. One was a long, crisp throw downfield. The second was a touch pass in the endzone that Ashworth pulled in with the defender covering him closely. Both were well-thrown balls that were reflective of Heaps' headlines coming out of high school. BYU now heads into a bye hoping to produce for consistency and continuity on offense. Ground chuck should be the gameplan the rest of the season, but maybe Heaps has his breakout game in two weeks. -Andrew Adams

FINAL Fourth Quarter
BYU 25, Wyoming 20

12:34 Fourth Quarter
BYU 25, Wyoming 13

Jake Heaps just threw two great balls on that drive. Both were to Luke Ashworth. One was a bullet downfield. The other was a touch pass in the endzone that was right on the money. Jake Heaps gets his second touchdown pass of the season. He keeps making throws like that, there will be plenty more. Cougars miss on the 2pt conversion attempt.

3rd Quarter Third Quarter
BYU 19, Wyoming 13

8:25 Third Quarter
BYU 16, Wyoming 10

It seemed apparent that BYU would break the 24 point barrier in this game early on. If they continue to turn the ball over and not execute on offense the 24 points looks less likely. The Cougars have the ball and need to put some pressure on the Cowboys and have a sustained drive. They had no problem running the ball earlier and could use a heavy dose of it on this drive to get some more points on the board.

9:52 Third Quarter
BYU 16, Wyoming 10

BYU hasn't been able to muster anything consistent on offense since the first quarter, but the defense continues to get results. The Pokes only had -18 yards of offense in the first half. They have barely passed into positive yards in the second half. One offensive yard at this point. BYU ball. We'll see if the Cougars can do anything with it.

15:00 Third Quarter
BYU 16, Wyoming 10

Starting the 3rd Quarter. Wyoming with the ball to begin the 2nd half.

3:44 Second Quarter
BYU 16, Wyoming 7

Interception thrown by Jake Heaps deep in Wyoming territory, returned for a touchdown. Jake Heaps now has 1 touchdown pass this year and 7 interceptions.

3:58 Second Quarter
BYU 16, Wyoming 7

8:41 First Quarter
BYU 9, Wyoming 0

Snap Over Austin Carta-Samuels into the endzone, saftey. So far so good for the Cougars offense and defensive series.
