PROVO -- Provo is prepared to feel some "Good Vibrations" as the Beach Boys return to Utah to perform in concert tonight.

The group's original singer, Mike Love, Told the Daily Herald he can't wait to be in Provo. Love says he thought up one of the Beach Boys' most popular songs, "Fun, Fun, Fun," while in Utah.

In the 1960's, the Beach Boys were regulars at the Lagoon bandstand. Love said the idea for the song came to him while he was riding in a taxi en route to the Salt Lake International Airport. Click here for more on that story.

The group, which became one of the top-selling musical groups in the world during its heyday in the ‘60s, also recorded a song called "Salt Lake City" for its ninth album.

The Beach Boys now consist of Love, who is the only original member of the group, his son Christian Love, John Cowsill, Bruce Johnston, Randell Kirsch, Scott Totten, and Tim Bonhomme.

Thursday night's concert at the Covey Center for the Arts is part of the Mayor's Series for the Performing Arts. For more information, call 801-852-7007, or go to
