SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Skiers and snowboarders now have more slopes to choose from -- as Solitude Mountain Resort opens today.
It's Utah's third resort to open for the season. Solitude opens the season with 18 inches of snow.
Although the Wasatch Mountains has been hit with sunshine, nighttime temperatures have been cold enough for Solitude to make enough snow to open two chairlifts, Link and Moonbeam.
Resort officials also hope to open the Apex chair soon. They say the forecast for the next couple of days looks like they should be able to continue making snow at night.
Today, all-day lift tickets will cost 38 dollars.
Meanwhile, Alta plans to open Friday with four chairlifts.
