(KSL News) A serious traffic accident sent three people to the hospital and shut down part of northbound I-15 for a time Sunday night.
An eyewitness told KSL a compact truck was southbound near Beck Street, going about 75 to 80 miles an hour. The truck bumped the median, causing it to skid and spin several times. It then flipped over the center strip, rolling directly into the path of northbound traffic.
Troopers confirm the SUV rolled, crossed the median and landed in northbound traffic. Troopers say three people were ejected from the vehicle. They were taken to the hospital.
A helicopter landed on the road near the Beck Street exit and forced crews to close a portion of the interstate for about 30 minutes.
The lanes were beginning to reopen around 10:30 p.m.
