CLEARFIELD, Utah (AP) -- A report commissioned by the city of Clearfield says the city has a high percentage of renters and needs more homeowners.
Clearfield has a home ownership rate of about 56 percent, compared with about 71 percent for the rest of the state. The report says to attract more homeowners there needs to be a greater variety of housing types that are affordable and available for all stages of life and incomes.
The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that there is a large supply of homes for people to buy under $200,000, but there is a need to have homes for people when they are ready to move from their first homes.
