UTA to Run Extra Trains For U of U/Colorado State Game Saturday

The Utah Transit Authority is encouraging the public to avoid traffic and parking congestion by taking public transportation to the University of Utah versus Colorado State football game on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 4 p.m.

To accommodate large crowds heading to the football game, UTA will provide extra TRAX, FrontRunner and bus service.

TRAX

UTA will run seven additional direct TRAX trains from Sandy to Rice-Eccles Stadium for increased capacity.

Extra trains will depart Sandy Civic Center Station at 1:15, 1:35, 1:55, 2:15, 2:35, 2:55 and 3:15 p.m. These trains are in addition to the regular Saturday TRAX schedule, which runs every 20 minutes. All other Sandy trains will require a transfer at Gallivan Plaza Station to a University train.

In addition, UTA will run five direct trains from Rice-Eccles Stadium to Sandy after the game. Direct trains will be identified with "Sandy" in the header. All other University trains will require a transfer to continue south to Sandy.

All TRAX trains will have extra cars both before and after the game to accommodate more riders.

FrontRunner

FrontRunner will also run an extra train departing Ogden Station at 1:46 p.m. In addition, FrontRunner will have an extra train from Salt Lake Central Station northbound departing one hour after the conclusion of the game. These trains are in addition to the regular Saturday FrontRunner service, which runs once per hour.

Bus

UTA will run a direct bus shuttle between Stadium Station and Gallivan Plaza to accommodate additional riders, before and after the game. The buses will display "TRAX Shuttle" in the header. The bus shuttle will begin operation at approximately 2:30 p.m. and will also run for one hour following the conclusion of the game.

For detailed schedule information, visit www.rideuta.com or call 1-888-RIDE-UTA (743-3882).

Travel Tip: Try out the group pass—$12 for up to four riders to ride roundtrip during regular service hours. Good on TRAX, bus and FrontRunner.
