Thanks to Scott Johnson's efforts and a very generous member of Scott's extended family, Scottie J, Marc Lyons and I were able attend Game 1 of the American League Championship Series Friday night at the Ballpark in Arlington.

The night before BYU battles TCU over in Fort Worth, the KSL broadcast crew enjoyed the New York Yankees' comeback, 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers.

Not sure if anyone really cares, but these are a few photos from our night out at the ballgame.

The Mountain West Conference's ADs have (over) reacted to this past week's "tempest in a tape deck," modifying a portion of the league's instant replay protocol.

The real issue of apparently inaccurate or incorrect interpretation of available video evidence by an "unaffiliated" head replay official was instead obfuscated by unfair implications, leading to a decision that would purportedly serve to validate those unproven insinuations.

In my view, the ADs solved a problem that didn't require solving, at the expense of individuals whose impartiality and professionalism should never have been called into question.
