(KSL News) An attentive neighbor may have saved lives and certainly prevented more damage from a fire in Tooele this morning.

Neighbor Mark Monosso recalls, "I got up this morning to let my dogs out and I could smell smoke. So I jumped my fence. I'd seen the smoke. I called 911."
Fire crews arrived to flames shooting from the carport and shed of the house just before 6 a.m. One man inside had already gotten himself outside.

Firefighters quickly put out the flames before they spread inside.
No word yet on what caused the blaze.
