That's what we call technical glitches in the newsroom when Gremlins decide to bite. Phones, laptops and even our news vehicles with live units are great for helping us broadcast live, but when they all decide to have a Monday, it can be a nightmare for an Editor. You work hard to produce a show but if things don't mesh, then it doesn't sound so great. It's definitely a team effort in the newsroom. It is up to each person to own up to their responsibility and to take action when and where it is needed. Be alert at all times and have your running shoes ready. News is fun and full of adrenaline but it is a lot of hard work and it can be stressful. That's when you realize you have to just put a crazy day behind you and move onto the next, running shoes in hand.
