LAYTON -- The battle of the books for a Chopper 5 reading party heated up Friday.

Ellison Elementary in Layton came on strong with a school-wide read-a-thon. Students logged a combined 36,000 reading minutes in our Read Today program.

Now they're in a three-way heat to win a party with Chopper 5 at their school.

The other schools that have registered the most readers are Reagan Academy in Springville and Canyon Rim Academy in Salt Lake.

The winner will be announced next week.
