(KSL News) A man accused of adopting kittens just to torture them will spend the next 60 days in jail, but not because of his cruelty to animals.

Clint Wilkes was sentenced to 180 days in jail on one count of assault in an incident involving his girlfriend. That girlfriend is the one who testified against Wilkes, claiming he would find the kittens through ads in the newspaper and then break their bones or burn them with chemicals. He then would have her drop the injured animals off at shelters.
