CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Southern Utah's snowpack melted four to six weeks early and only produced about 15 inches of runoff.
That's the word from a National Weather Service hydrologist, who predicts another dry summer for Southern Utah.
Two years ago, the St. George area was the scene of floods and had one of it's wettest seasons on record.
Iron County Engineer Stephen Platt says it seems it's one extreme or the other when it comes to water in southern Utah.
Officials also have already predicted a higher than average fire potential for the area this season.
