(KSL News) Today is considered a yellow air quality day in Salt Lake, Davis, Utah and Weber counties.
The Utah Division of Air Quality says the alert is not a health advisory, rather a preemptive notice so Utahns can keep the air from getting much worse.
Residents are asked to carpool, use mass transit and consolidate their travel. Also, officials recommend filling vehicles with gasoline during cooler parts of the day to reduce the amount of fumes entering the air.
