(KSL News) A Riverton woman went through months of testing to prepare to donate a kidney to a family friend.

Tracy Barraco has been on dialysis waiting for a new kidney since September 2005. Her friend Joann Watts volunteered to donate one of her kidneys to Tracy.

Even though Tracy was able to get another kidney, she felt Joann still deserved a High 5 for being so selfless and willing.

"We're very grateful," Tracy said. "I'm very grateful that she was so willing to make that sacrifice. I just love her."

Joann said, "I've just loved the family for a long time. They've been close friends. It's been kind of exciting thinking about it. I was almost disappointed when she got one."

Joann received a High 5 from our Coco Warner and a $20 gift certificate to Dairy Queen.
