(KSL News) The Salt Lake City Police Department honored their fallen friends today.

The annual memorial service commemorates all Salt Lake Police officers who have died in the line of duty.
Today they were remembered with a 21-gun salute, flag ceremony and a performance by the Madeleine School Choir.

Salt Lake Mayor Rocky Anderson also spoke of three men who have died while he's been in office.
Twenty-three officers from the Salt Lake Police Department have given their lives since 1858.
