(KSL News) Utahns are being urged to conserve water.

St. George has enacted the first stage of a drought management plan. Residents and businesses are being asked to voluntarily restrict their water use, but three mandatory water restrictions are in place.

St. George Water Restrictions

1. No yard watering from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m.
2. Automatic shut-off valves on hoses
3. Washing sidewalks and driveways prohibited

No one can water their yards between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. When washing the car, hoses must have automatic shut-off valves. And washing off sidewalks and driveways is prohibited.

Repeated violations of the restrictions can result in fines.
