(KSL News) The mother of a Utah soldier who died in Iraq two years ago is now suing the security contractor he worked for.

Sergeant Brandon James Thomas died when a car bomb detonated in Baghdad. Thomas was working as a contractor at the time, protecting retired military generals.

His mother claims the company, CTU Services Iraq, has not paid her son's estate or life insurance as they promised.

The lawsuit also alleges the company didn't provide sufficient armor and protection for her son.

The family is seeking damages. An amount will be determined during a trial.
